"I suppose, but... I'm a pup your an alpha... In a pack the alpha always eats before anyone else in the pack" he moved closer towards the carcass and tilted his head. "come on."

Rain looked at the pup. Okay fine you win ill come and eat with ya. She said as she moved closer. She dipped her head down then took a small bit out of the carcass.

The pup smiled before lowering his head and taking a few gulps of the meat, his ears remained pinned back against his head. The warm taste and smell made his mouth water, pulling away he licked his chops and shook his head. "The mother... she looked sad" he woofed.

Rain looked back at the pup. She was, she lost her baby. Your parent would've been sad if they lost you. She told him quietly

"It's apart of life though.. things live and things die there isn't a thing you can do to stop it... if something is destined to be lost then you can't change that." he lowered his head, this was the first time he had actually shown any grief in front of the she wolf or any other wolf for that matter.. For some reason he missed his mom, dad and littermates more then he ever had before. "If we hadn't taken it a hunter with those metal sticks would have.. or something else would have gotten it."

Rain watched as she saw sadness in him. Not necessarily but more than likely another wolf would have gotten it it is true. Life is hard Riot. Really hard. This is just the beginning and it will get harder. Trust me. She said, thinking of the upcoming war.

"I know it'll only get harder.. That is why I refuse to befriend others, I must remain on my own and let life take it's toll." he smiled up at you. "Do you want to know what happened to my family?" he asked, his bark wasn't filled with grief anymore, but slight excitement.

Rain looked at him confused. Sudden mood change..nice. She thought. Okay talk it up. She said to the pup.

"Well.. My parents were born and raised rogues, neither of them ever had an interest in becoming a member to a pack.. They said that they valued the ways of a pack but never believed that they could be of help to one. My parents were knew each since they were 5moons, they always stayed together and soon fell in love." he paused and took a breathe, his tail began to wag. "Me and my littermates were their first litter, they were ever so happy to have pups.. There were four including me.. Once we opened our eyes and were able to walk, our parents would take us every where with them, they'd tell us things that would help keep us alive, my father would show us how to crouch to hunt while our mother showed us that we always wanted to be down wind of our prey.. They also showed us how to find water and how to avoid human traps.. The pups eyes never left you.

"sadly our fun wouldn't last, it was last winter that my mother and siblings were taken by the Hunters with metal sticks.. They were caught in these large metal looking traps that was completely closed except for the entrance into it, they were carted away while I and my farther returned home, my father caught sent of the humans and our family and told me that he was going after them that I wasn't to go with him that it was to dangerous. that he'd return soon with mom and siblings..".

Rain looked at the pup sadly. And he never came back did he? She asked. It wouldnt be the first time hunters took the lives of wolves. It has been going on for ages. It was just so depressing with a pups family going like how Riots had.

"No. he never came back... but sometimes when I look up at the full moon I listen really hard and I can hear his voice.. I know my family is alive and I will find them once I am strong enough to make the long road to where the humans roam."
